THE GIRLS

When our kids come to visit, they always bring "the girls".

Tracie and Jon bring their Labrador Retriever.  Her name is Dakota - since that's where she was born.  But most of the time, she is just called Kota.  When the girls go outside to play, Kota often gets distracted by rabbit trails or cat trails!  If left unwatched, she would follow them until she would be out-of-sight!  She loves to lick your hand, and can't seem to let you pet her without it turning into a contest!

Travis bring his Saint Bernard.  Her name is Daffy.  Daffy is spoiled!  She comes with a laundry basket of her special toys.  And, of course, her own bed.  She is extremely lovable and gets lots of attention wherever she goes.  She is soft to pet and loves to run and play with the girls!  She gradually destroys all of her toys, so they have to be replaced at regular intervals.  You often catch her staring at you with her bloodshot eyes;  it makes you wonder what she's thinking...

Troy bring his Great Dane.  Her name is Ansley.  Ansley is tall!!!!  If you're sitting on the couch, she walks up to you and looks you right in the eye!  She can see everything on the kitchen counter.  Consequently, she is known to ravage food left on counters.  Last week she licked the icing off of Travis' birthday cake before anyone had a piece.  She gallops like a horse and loves to play with the other girls.  When she lays on the living room floor, it's difficult to walk through the room!

Debbie and I are learning to love "the girls".  Of course we already love their masters!  They bring a little chaos into our lives, but we're always happy to see them - because of who brings them!!!
